It wasn’t just any The Els for Autism charity fundraiser at Old Palm Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, FL hosted by Marvin Shanken of Cigar Aficionado raised serious funds today when Rickie Fowler got a hole in one on the million dollar challenge. Numerous tour Pro’s played in the event including Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, Louie Oosthuizen, Retif Goosen and Vijay Singh to name a few. It was Rickie Fowler that came through holing out on a 110 par 3 into the wind. The hole in one challenge sponsored by SAP and Ketel One donated $1 Million dollars to Els for Autism

“Kind of nothing to lose” Fowler told the Golf Channel after making the hole-in-one. “Just having fun. It’s a small target. It doesn’t happen very often. Pretty cool to do that for Ernie and the foundation.”

Els lifted Fowler into the air as a crowd of people, including major champions Rory McIlroy and Louis Oosthuizen, celebrated around them. According to its website, the Els for Autism Foundation was founded in 2009 by Ernie and Liezl Els. Their son, Ben, has been diagnosed with the disorder that affects one in 68 children in the United States.

Rumor Has it that Fowler was on his way home on Monday from practice and got a call from a player asking him to come by. Fowler did and participated in the 19th hole, Hole in One Challenge sponsored by SAP & Ketel One. He did not have his clubs or even a pair of golf shoes or a glove. He borrowed a club from Luke Donald and a ball from someone else and calmly stepped up in a pair of high tops, does not bother to warm up and knocked it right in the hole on one bounce. The crowd went crazy! As Luke Donald said,’The Boy can do do no wrong.”
